Pastor Jack is our Founding Pastor, having founded The Church On The Way in 1969. In 1999, he celebrated with his wife Anna thirty years of faithful leadership and fruitful harvest to our congregation. At that time, he passed the baton of leadership to Dr. Scott & Rebecca Bauer. Four years later, Pastor Scott was called home to Heaven, and Pastor Jack stepped back into the role of Senior Pastor until releasing it in 2004 to Pastor Jim Tolle who had been discipled in the ways of the Lord under Pastor Jack’s leadership. Though Pastor Jack serves many other roles, he remains part of our congregation’s teaching team.
He is an acknowledged “bridge-builder,” helping to forge healthy bonds among all segments of the Body of Christ. He is recognized for his balance in preaching the Word, avoiding extremes while not diluting or compromising the demands of truth. Pastor Jack’s heart to bring unity across all denominational and racial boundaries has given him an open door to minister in all kinds of settings. He has authored over 40 books and is the General Editor of the Spirit-Filled Life publications produced by Thomas Nelson Publishers. He has composed over 500 hymns, songs, and choruses, the most noted of which is the classic “Majesty.” Over the 50+ years of his ministry, he has served in youth ministry, pastoral ministry, as president of our denominational training school, LIFE Bible College (now Life Pacific College), and now as our denominational president.
Anna Hayford has been described as “down to earth and real.” She does not let the pressures of life try to mold her into something she’s not, but remains true to herself while devoting herself to ministry alongside her husband. She ministers as a plenary speaker, both nationally and internationally. She is the recipient of The World Changers Award (1998), from Foursquare Women International and has been a guest on many Christian radio and television broadcasts. Anna has also contributed to the Women of Destiny Bible, Heart to Heart with Pastors’ Wives, and Still Moments, as well as being featured in such publications as Aglow Magazine and Partnership magazine.
The Hayfords enjoy reading, listening to books on tape (a great car activity!), and attending theater productions.
