Pastors Fernando & Rosa Maria have a passion to see people’s lives restored, because they have witnessed the power of God’s restoration in their own lives. Fernando says, “The first who came to know the Lord was my wife . . . This began her fight to win me for Christ—a struggle that lasted six years. When our home was totally broken and we were in the midst of making plans to separate, God touched my heart. At that point, I understood the senselessness of proceeding with the divorce. I repented . . . received the forgiveness of both God and my family, and we began a new life in Christ.”
Fernando & Rosa Maria were born and raised in Bogata, Colombia. Their ministry began in 1982 when they were asked to lead a small prayer group. Over time, the group grew from 30 to a church of 300. Though trained and serving in business, they attended and graduated from the Foursquare Bible Institute VIDA in 1991 and planted five churches in Bogata. They experienced great fruitfulness both in ministry and in their business endeavors; but in 1998, they decided to leave the business world and serve God in full time ministry. Then in 2001, the Lord clearly confirmed that they were to move to the United States to serve Him among the
Hispanic community.
Pastors Fernando & Rosa Maria have been married for 34 years and have two children and two grandchildren. They love to spend time with their family and to travel. When asked about guiding words for their lives, Fernando responded, “When you don’t know what to do or what decision to make, search inside yourself; your conscience will tell you what is the right thing to do.” Rosa Maria adds, “When you make a mistake, two powerful words will make a difference:
‘Forgive me.’”
